Fairly high up there on the List of Things That I HateTM are people who call you back when you’ve hit upon a wrong number and decline to leave a message.
Hey, stupid. If I’d wanted to talk to you, I’d have actually left a message. Is your life so empty that you have to desperately grasp at any possible human contact, even should it be from a complete stranger who really didn’t want to talk to you in the first place? If so, then you might do somewhat better at a bus station. Maybe even a Wal-Mart.
But seeing as you have an actual answering service, I’d recommend letting it do its job…you know, capturing the messages from people who have called you a’purpose. And maybe instead of grasping at unknown phone numbers you should go read a book or something. Gaze at your navel. Find a sense of self, even.
