I must confess I'm not a stockmaker. I'm not. I'm more inclined to just put it all in a pot and vegetable soup. But I can see I'm most likely missing something here and should stretch into this! I LOVE those striped romas. Gorgeous! And I promise to find a black tomato next year and give that a try, too. THANK YOU!

This celery is Conquistador pelleted, and it required zero extra care, didn't attract the attention of any pests at all, just grew up happy in a big old pot sitting on the patio. It was started in January (var. Conquistador pelleted), and has taken this long to mature. And honestly it could have probably gone another month as the stalks are thin and chewy. The. Most. Vivid celery flavor I've ever tasted though, which was one thing that gave me the idea to use it in stock. Then again I'm not sure if the chewy is due to immaturity or hotter-than-it-likes growing conditions. But you know how I like to try everything. :)

Where's it going to be used? Roasted red pepper soup, cream of jalapeno soup, spaghetti sauce, chili...any other suggestions are more than welcome!

Wow Stacy,
It all looks so yummy delicious. You have really mastered this veggie thing. And you are so brave to try so many things at once. I am impressed with the celery and would love to make room for it next year. Any advice or tips? Was it easy or did it require special care?

Yes, those Striped Roma tomatoes are beautiful.

Now ... what will you do with all that yummy stock? Meems
