That first guy missing the tail looks like he had a run in with my cat. We had kept him inside since we moved (suburban FL is a lot different than rural VT and we did not want him to get hurt) but he has gotten cabin fever and started running outdoors when ever he can. He misses catching rats from our barn and has now replaced the rats with the poor lizards. I have no clue how to stop him!

The garden is looking good. I am so jealous.

I've always wondered if containers had an impact on things like soil temperature and moisture. I've noticed when planting seeds indoors, some containers are better at insulating and keeping moisture in the dirt; and those containers generally produce seedlings faster.

For example, we decided to grow some moonflowers on the pergola this year. We planted about twenty seeds in varying sizes and types of containers. The only seeds that grew were in larger plastic pots. Anything that was in a smaller container didn't produce anything. We used everything from dixie cups to old yogurt containers. If I had to guess - I think the smaller ones dry out faster than the larger ones, and cool off too quickly at night.

@Caitlin:
 Oh no, the lizards beat the ever loving hell out of each other, like tiny mad dinosaurs. The ones the cats get hold of are either rescued and evicted or immediately eaten. By the cats, yes.
