Gave up trying to sprout sodding herbs this year and just bought youngsters at the plant store.  Hey, the quicker I can gets to cooking...</description>

We bought a lovely acer Japanese red maple on Sunday, the kind with those narrow, lacey-looking leaves. And a redbud. And our broccoli and basil have sprouted.

And it was 28 degrees when I left the house this morning.</description>
